What is Genkai Shokudo?

Genkai Shokudo offers a more affordable way to enjoy the traditional flavors of "Genkai Mizutaki" (chicken hot pot).

With deep gratitude toward those who have supported Genkai...Genkai Shokudo was established as a gathering place for those who live in or commute to Shinjuku—a spot to enjoy a meal with cherished friends, long-lost companions, family, or colleagues. We aim to be your "second dining room," offering Genkai’s traditional cuisine and heartfelt hospitality found nowhere else.

"We have resumed our evening service after a long hiatus. We look forward to welcoming you back with Mizutaki, chicken dishes, and a selection of delicious drinks."

お料理CUISINE

Mizutaki is a dish that has been eaten mainly in Kyushu and Kansai, but is now a hot pot dish that is recognized throughout Japan.

As the name suggests, it is a hot pot dish in which the broth is made by boiling water and then eaten with vegetables as an ingredient.
When it comes to mizutaki, chicken is usually used, as this is the easiest way to extract flavor.

We believe that our founder, Hiroo Yano, was the first to introduce it in Tokyo.
We have resumed our evening operations after a long hiatus. We look forward to welcoming you back with mizutaki (chicken hot pot), various chicken dishes, and a selection of fine drinks.

This is a unique dish only available at our restaurant, allowing you to enjoy "unaju" (eel rice bowl), "yakitoriju" (grilled chicken rice bowl), and "mizutaki soup" all at once. Each chef prepares their own special sauce for grilled eel and yakitori. First, enjoy the natural flavors of the ingredients as they are, and finally, pour the rich chicken broth over them to enjoy them in a hitsumabushi style. Also, feel free to add the Niyodogawa sansho pepper provided on the table to your liking. Grown in the Niyodo River basin, known as a miraculous, pristine river, this top-quality sansho pepper boasts a refreshing, fruity aroma, a vibrant olive green color, and a pleasantly stimulating tingling sensation that further enhances the deliciousness of the bento box.
